&lt;p&gt;The dressing is a version of the ‘green goddess’ from ‘Appetite for Reduction’, which is amazing. Even if you fuck with it, it’s amazing.&lt;br/&gt;
I used 3 cloves garlic, a handful of parsley, half a small red onion, blitzed up. Added some nooch, 3 big blobs of sweet white miso, a couple of tbsp tahini &amp; enough water to make a good consistency. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The recipe is from Vegan Pie in the Sky by Isa &amp; Terry, which you should totally get.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The photo is rubbish, mainly because I couldn’t wait to eat the pie. So good! Pretty simple too, the mousse is coconut milk, cashews, coffee, chocolate, vanilla &amp; agar. &lt;br/&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ginger is on Northgate in Halifax, above the Food Therapy healthfood shop. It’s right opposite the bus depot.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We actually found it at the end of last year, but I thought I’d lost the pics. I had a lovely peppery mushroom soup, and a veg sausage sandwich.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It’s reasonably priced, tasty food. The owners seem like decent people, and certainly on the day we were there, super busy. There seem to be a good selection of vegan cakes too.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The other exciting discovery is that there is a &lt;a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/calderdalevegans/" title="fb" target="_blank"&gt;Calderdale Veg*n Group&lt;/a&gt; that meets there. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We hung out with our buddies Sally and Scott and their adorable Canadian rescue dog Tia. Tia barks pretty much every time you move, until she gets relaxed and goes in for the belly rub. S&amp;S sometimes put a Tshirt on her to calm her down (it feels like a hug), which is fully AWESOME.&lt;/p&gt;

Here it is on a sesame bagel, with sundried tomatoes and black olives.&lt;br/&gt;
Home made seitan pepperoni &amp; rocket, and a glass of Rejuvelac.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It’s been a while, but the cream cheese is REALLY like I remember it, in a way that the bought ones kind of aren’t.&lt;br/&gt;
It does that going warm and gooey thing when it’s on a toasted bagel.&lt;br/&gt;
Next stop BRIE!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Els is 6&amp;#160;1/2 months pregnant, and it occurred to me I haven&amp;#8217;t blogged about what that&amp;#8217;s been like for her on a (mainly) vegan diet.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We were sure that people were gonna be all &amp;#8216;Aaaargh PROTEIN????&amp;#8217; etc, so we wanted to be armed with FACTS and also MUFFINS. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I read &amp;#8216;The Vegan Pregnancy Survival Guide&amp;#8217; by Sayward Rebhal, and started feeding Els a spoon of Blackstrap Mollases (almost) every day, which contains 20% of your daily calcium and iron needs.&lt;span&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Pregnant women can see a big drop in iron levels but Els&amp;#8217;s levels have been consistently &amp;#8220;off the charts&amp;#8221;. Awesome. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Molasses kicks ass! Even though it one night she puked up on her dinner plate while trying to swallow a mega spoon full. Gross. (Hilarious). &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#8217;s very thick.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;She&amp;#8217;s been taking a pregnancy pill, with folic acid in, and I also implemented a routine of Spirulina and B12, plus occasional Calcium and Vitamin D. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All of those are available super cheap on the internet &amp;amp; often in the supermarket too. We only took Spirulina once a day, although it recommends 3-4. They taste pretty funky, a bit fishy, and tend to stick in your throat.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;She was lucky enough not to really get any morning sickness, no real cravings (definite increase in cake awareness), and only a slight aversion to onions (particularly the smell of them frying).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Also, Els is drinking a tsp ground flax dissolved in squash or water &amp;amp; is enjoying increased bowel efficiency as a result. Yay poop!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Rejuvelac is a non-alcoholic fermented liquid made from sprouted grains. It is purported to improve digestion of food. Rejuvelac can be drunk as a digestive aid or used as a starter culture for other fermented foods such as raw nut and seed yoghurts, cheeses, sauces and Essene Breads. Rejuvelac is prepared using whole wheat, oats, rye, quinoa, oats, barley, millet, buckwheat, rice and other types of grain. Rejuvelac is cloudy, with the colour of pale straw. It has a flavour that is lemony, sharp and slightly tangy, with a mild earthy aroma.&lt;br/&gt;
